Gleanly

Privacy Policy

DRAFT. Last updated: [DATE TBD]. This policy describes the current preview version. It will be updated before any advertising or purchases are turned on, and the changes will be clearly noted here.

The short version

Gleanly is a free daily puzzle. We don't ask for your name, email, or an account. We don't sell your data. We don't use third-party trackers.

What stays on your device

To save your progress, your stats, and your light/dark choice, Gleanly uses your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can erase it at any time with "Reset my stats" or by clearing your browser's site data.

What we collect

In this version, nothing. The game makes no analytics calls and loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or images. Like every website, our hosting provider ([Cloudflare Pages / Vercel, TBD]) may briefly process standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type in its server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. That is governed by the host's own privacy policy.

If we add analytics later, we will use a cookieless, privacy-focused option that counts visits without identifying you, and we will update this page first.

Advertising (not active yet)

We may later show a single ad after you finish a puzzle, and offer an optional short ad in exchange for an extra hint. Before any ads go live we will:

Purchases (not active yet)

A future optional one-time "Supporter" purchase may remove ads and unlock the puzzle archive. Payments would be handled by a payment processor, and we would never see or store your card details. This section will be completed before purchases launch.

Children

Gleanly is family-friendly and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. If ads are added, we will configure them to meet child-privacy laws such as COPPA, including child-directed settings where appropriate.
